NEW RELEASE OF KATRIN KöPPERT: CONTAGIOUS! THE AFFECTIVE POLITICS OF AIDS SCRAPBOOKS

Katrin Köppert has recently published an article in the third in the series of books exploring key aspects of both contemporary and historic photography. In The Photograph and The Album: Histories, Practices, Futures she launched the article „Contagious! The Affective Politics of AIDS Scrapbooks“ which – facing loss, fear and anger out of the consequences of AIDS – challenges assumptions about what could be recorded in albums.

„With 480 pages and more than 100 colour illustrations The Photograph and The Album: Histories, Practices, Futures is a perceptive and stimulating guide to understanding that most pervasive photographic format, the photo album. Becoming „increasingly unruly“, it has survived for over 150 years, from the first experimental albums of the 1850s to today’s interactive, mobile applications.“ (http://museumsetc.com/products/album)
